Every wysp runs in a sandbox
A wysp is a tiny piece of interactive code written by AI. We treat every one of them as untrusted, so it runs locked inside a sandbox on a completely separate website from the Wyspio app. In practice that means a wysp:
- can't see your account: no access to your cookies, session, messages or anything else in the app;
- can't connect to the internet: it can't load trackers, send data anywhere, or download anything;
- can't use your device: no camera, microphone, location, files, notifications or payments;
- can't ask for passwords or card numbers: those fields are blocked when it's published;
- can't take over your screen: no pop-ups, redirects or leaving the page, and runaway code is stopped automatically.
Interactive wysps (polls, counters, games) only exchange tiny, checked messages with the app (for example “vote for option 2”), and authors only ever see totals, never who tapped what.
Checked before it's posted
Before a wysp goes live, our publish pipeline scans its code and rejects anything that tries to reach the network, embed other sites, or collect sensitive input. It also caps its size and adds protection against code that would freeze your phone.
You decide who sees it
- Friends (default), close friends, a hand-picked list, or everyone, chosen per wysp.
- Wysps disappear after 1, 6 or 24 hours and are then deleted.
- You see who viewed your wysp; reactions and replies go only to you.
- Replies and remixes can be turned off per wysp.
Always labelled as AI
Every wysp shows “made with AI · @author”, so nobody mistakes it for a real photo or recording. The author is responsible for what they post (see the Community Guidelines).
Reporting
Tap ⋯ → Report on a wysp or profile. It disappears for you immediately, the author never learns who reported it, and when several people report the same wysp it's pulled from public spaces until a moderator reviews it.
For anything else, like a bug that worries you, a safety concern or a legal request, report a problem by email ([email protected]).
Blocking
Block anyone from their profile. You stop seeing each other's wysps, they can't message or friend you, and they aren't told. Manage blocked accounts in Settings.
For teens and parents
Wyspio is for people 13 and older (older where local law says so). Accounts are friends-first: wysps go to friends by default, strangers can only reach you by replying to a public wysp (replies can be turned off) and can't keep messaging unless you answer or become friends, and anything that puts young people at risk is removed and reported.
Parents and guardians can contact us at [contact email] about a child's account, including to request its deletion.
If you're struggling
If you or someone you know is in danger, contact local emergency services right away. If you're having a hard time, talking to someone you trust or a local helpline can help. You don't have to go through it alone.
