The spirit of the thing
Wyspio is for saying how you feel and sending your friends something alive. That only works if everyone feels safe being a little vulnerable. So the core rule is simple: make wysps for people, not at them.
These guidelines apply to everything on Wyspio: wysps, prompts, captions, profiles, comments, replies and messages, and to the code inside a wysp.
What's not allowed
Harassment and bullying
No targeting, mocking, threatening or ganging up on people, including “jokes” made at someone's expense, unwanted sexual comments, and encouraging others to pile on. Don't keep contacting someone who has made it clear they don't want to hear from you.
Sexual content
No nudity, pornography, or sexually explicit wysps, prompts or messages, and no sexual solicitation. This applies to AI-generated and drawn content too.
Minors' safety
Zero tolerance for anything that sexualises, exploits or endangers people under 18, including grooming, asking minors for images, personal details or to move to another app. We remove it, ban the account, and report it to the authorities (such as NCMEC) where the law requires. Wyspio is for people 13+.
Hate
No attacks, slurs, dehumanising content or stereotypes targeting people for race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, religion, disability, disease, age, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation, and no symbols or praise of hate groups.
Violence and threats
No threats, glorification of violence or attacks, or content that encourages people to hurt others.
Self-harm and suicide
No content that promotes, encourages or gives instructions for self-harm, suicide or eating disorders. Talking about how you feel (including feeling low) is welcome. If a friend's wysp worries you, reach out to them, and report it so we can share support resources. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
Impersonation
Don't pretend to be another person, brand or organisation, or use AI to make realistic fake depictions of real people that could mislead or embarrass them. Parody is fine when it's obviously parody.
Phishing, scams and malicious wysps
No fake login screens, requests for passwords, codes or payment details, giveaway or investment scams, or links designed to trick people. A wysp's code must not try to track viewers, escape its sandbox, mine crypto, or freeze people's devices. Our sandbox blocks most of this, and trying is enough to get banned.
Private information
No sharing someone else's private details (address, phone number, private photos, documents) without their permission.
Spam and manipulation
No bulk or repetitive posting, fake accounts, buying or selling accounts, or automating likes, follows or friend requests.
Illegal and dangerous stuff
No selling or promoting drugs, weapons or other regulated goods, and no content that infringes someone's copyright or trademark.
AI-made, and labelled
Every wysp is generated by AI (or built from one of our templates) and carries a “made with AI · @author” label wherever it's shown. That label is part of the deal:
- Don't try to hide, cover or fake the label, or present a wysp as a real photo or recording.
- You're the author of what you post, even when AI made it. The guidelines apply to AI output exactly like anything else.
- Remixes always credit the original wysp's author.
Gone in 24h, but not consequence-free
Wysps disappear after 1, 6 or 24 hours. That makes Wyspio a relaxed place to share the messy middle, not a loophole. People can screenshot what they see, reports still reach us after a wysp expires, and we keep what we need to act on serious harm (see the Privacy Policy).
How reporting works
- Tap ⋯ → Report on any wysp (or on a profile) and pick what's wrong.
- It disappears for you right away. The author is never told who reported it.
- When several people report the same wysp, it's pulled from public places like Discover until a moderator reviews it.
- A moderator looks at it and decides: remove it, leave it up, or (for serious or repeated problems) suspend the account.
Something else wrong, or urgent? Report a problem by email. If you think we made the wrong call on your content or account, write to [contact email] and a person will review it again.
Blocking
Blocking someone removes the friendship, hides your wysps from each other, and stops them from messaging or friending you. They aren't notified. You can unblock from Settings any time.
What happens when rules are broken
- Removal: the wysp disappears for everyone, including its author.
- Suspension: the account is locked, its wysps and comments are hidden and its sessions are signed out.
- Immediate ban: for the most serious harms (minors' safety, credible threats, scams, malicious code), without warnings.
